As part of the redevelopment of London's St Pancras station in
readiness for its new role as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link terminus,
ITM Ltd, Soil Instruments' sister company, are monitoring both the
historic Grade I Listed facade of the station and the Kings Cross
Thameslink railway Tunnel beneath it.
ITM and Soil Instruments have a special interest in this particular
building, as it was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, the great-uncle
of the ITM-Soil Group Managing Director, Jon Scott.
As part of the monitoring contract ITM have supplied and helped
to install a variety of instruments, including 25 Electrolevel Tiltmeters,
100 tape extensometer points and survey points on the facade, horizontal
electrolevels within the structure and 60 Electrolevel Beams in
the Thameslink tunnel itself.
